Health Care Reform

Health care reform is in the news daily as it is the focus of Congress and the President in the near term. 

Almost 44 million people in the US are without health insurance or about 1 in 6 adults. It is estimated that 60% of bankruptcy cases are caused by health care bills and 75% of the bankrupt families had health insurance. 

綠卡移民: 依親綠卡移民類別及目前的排期

除了之前談過的美國公民的配偶與未滿21歲且未婚的小孩外(http://tw.myblog.yahoo.com/my-lawllc/article?mid=3&prev=9&next=2&l=f&fid=9 )，依親方式取得綠卡還有以下幾類:

1．第一類別:

美國公民已滿21歲但還未婚的子女，台灣或中國大陸出生的目前的排期等待時間為六年多

2．第二類別:

2A: 綠卡的配偶與其未滿21歲且未婚的小孩，台灣或中國大陸出生的目前的排期等待時間為四年多

2B: 綠卡已滿21歲但還未婚的子女，台灣或中國大陸出生的目前的排期等待時間為八年多

3．第三類別:

美國公民已婚的子女，台灣或中國大陸出生的目前的排期等待時間為八至九年

4．第四類別:

滿21歲美國公民的兄弟姊妹，台灣或中國大陸出生的目前的排期等待時間為十至十一年

H-1B 簽証是有雇主要雇用你，且你也符合一些規定，所提出的一個工作簽証的申請. 

H1B 每年有一定的年度配額，20,000 優先配是分配給有碩士學位者，65,000 給其他一般申請者，但若有碩士學位申請者擠不進 20,000 配額，則也可一起參與 65,000 的配額.

H1-B的年度是每年的十月至明年的九月，且在每年的四月一日就可開始提出申請.

2011 年的綠卡抽籤在今年 2009 的十月二日即將開姶，至十一月三十日結束，最近這幾年來，亞州地區包括台灣、香港、澳門、日本都有資格參與綠卡抽籤.

每年大約有55，000的綠卡抽籤名額給全世界有資格的國家來分配，並且是有區域性的分配，區域有分為: 非洲、亞洲、歐洲、北美、南美等.

過去五年來，從某些國家或地區來美國拿到綠卡的人數若超過一定的數目，則這些國家或地區的人民就不能參加綠卡抽籤，包括南韓、中國大陸等.
